The thing Payton wants more than anything else: The White House.

If you like politics, Ben Platt, or comedic drama, then The Politician is for you. The Politician was released on September 27th on the streaming platform Netflix. It follows Payton Hobart, who is running for class president through the twists and turns of high school life.

Payton is from a family worth billions of dollars, he can have anything he wants, yet all he wants is to win student-body president. He feels like his entire career in politics is hanging on this one election.

With his friends on his side, he has to deal with life, love, and loss. After a fellow classmate commits suicide, his whole life goes off-track. He begins spiraling through life, not knowing what he truly wants. His two main life goals are going to Harvard and getting elected as senior class president. He didn’t think it was going to be easy, but he didn’t realize everything was going to go downhill. The rumors and drama affect his campaign more than anything else.

It leaves him wondering what he can do to raise his image and who his true friends are. Who will prevail? Will his dreams of Harvard be lost? Or will he rise to the top? You will have to watch and find out.
